Fetal Heart Health Improves When Moms Exercise
A series of studies that focused on fetal heart development was led by Linda E. May, an exercise physiologist and anatomist at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, over the course of 4 years. The results: pregnant women who exercised 30 minutes 3 times per week had fetuses with healthier heart rates in the late stages of development. The benefits continued a month after the babies were born, proving that the advantages of physical activity continue after delivery.
